He is a professor of the Department of Physics, Nanjing University, and a doctoral supervisor. He is the deputy director of the Magnetism Committee of the Chinese Physical Society, a member of the Applied Magnetism Committee of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, a member of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, and the vice president of the Chinese Society for Instrumentation Materials. He has been the director of the Nano Science and Technology Research Center of Nanjing University and the chief scientist of the National Climbing Program "Nano Materials Science".
He has been teaching and researching magnetism and magnetic materials for a long time, and has conducted research on magnetic properties and magnetic transport, and two of his graduate students have won the National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award. He has published more than 800 SCI papers with his research group, and has been cited more than 10,000 times in SCI papers. He was awarded the second prize of National Natural Science and the first prize of Science and Technology of Jiangsu Province, and the second prize of Science and Technology Progress at the provincial and ministerial level, and was the first prize winner. He was awarded the 2007 He Liang He Li Science and Technology Progress Award.
