A.Prof. Xiaoguang Li, Northwestern Polytechnical University, China
Associate Prof. Li Xiaoguang comes from the School of Physical Science and Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi’an, China. He got his bachelor and PhD degrees in 2008 and 2013, respectively, in Tongji University. He underwent joint training during PhD study in CSIRO, Australia, for 18 months. He did postdoctoral study at Tongji University and Peking University from 2013 to 2015. His current interest focuses on interfacial materials and non-wetting systems, particularly on the manipulation and physical property of complex liquids, including liquid marbles and liquid plasticines. He has established the technology for precise liquid shaping, with the proposal of the concept “liquid plasticine”. He has also clarified the effective surface tension of liquid marbles, and developed several functional devices based on liquid marbles and liquid plasticines. The pioneering study on liquid plasticines was reported by some famous media including Discovery and New Scientist.
